    'Dune' manuel question

Sorry for writing in English, but I have a question regarding one phrase in 'Dune' manual. It is currently being translated into Russian, and there is one thing there that is difficult to understand. Maybe someone could help please!

When describing one of the game's authors, Didier Bouchon, that manual says: "Recognisable by the sparkling of cosmic dust on his black Larsen-hide knebs, Didier changes everything he can lay his hands on".

What does that 'black Larsen-hide knebs' mean? In French that sounds as "kneps en peau de Larsen noir", if I am not mistaken.

    Thanks!

Sorry again, but could please someone say if there is such a word in French as 'kneps' (and if yes, what does it actually mean)?

'kneps' is a shape of shoes. A mix between the 'sandal' and the classic 'boat shoe'.
Here's the 'Rafael' model : a kneps by Mephisto :

So Didier has sparkling cosmic dust on his shoes. Shoes made of black Larsen skin. (Remember : drug is bad ! )
"Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible cunt... me."

        A mystery solved

P.S. It is interesting by the way, that the Germans translated that as "Leather Jacket", while the Italians said that Didier has sparkling cosmic dust on his eyebrow...
