I've more or less finished, but I would like to clarify something regarding Squire Grip. The restored dialogue for the remake: 'Oh, I’m sorry, I’m so busy! I’ve got to go! I’ve got to go!' In this scene, does Squire Grip stay in place or do we see him leave? I ask this to potentially refine the translation.

If I'm not mistaken, Squire Grip translates to Écuyer in French.

Le dialogue restauré pour le remake : "Oh, I’m sorry, I’m so busy! I’ve got to go! I’ve got to go!"

'Squire' means 'Écuyer,' which corresponds to the character's role, but you're right, here 'Squire Grip' is a proper name. This name, in itself, seems a bit out of place in a French context.

'Squire' comes from the Old French 'Esquier', which is the old term for 'Ecuyer'. As for 'Grip', we could transliterate it with 'Grippe'. The French version of the name would be 'Esquier Grippe'.

Or perhaps 'Esquier Grippé', or 'Écuyer Grippé', because he doesn't move, based on what I've seen

These are just ideas; otherwise, 'Poignée d'Écuyer' isn't bad after all

If there are any who are passionate about the subject, feel free to share your opinion

This conversation about the francization of the name may seem strange to you, as you may wonder why not leave the name in English. It's because the name or nickname 'Squire Grip' has a meaning in English but means nothing in French. It’s a bit like if you wanted to translate a French game where one of the characters is named 'Tranche-Montagne' or 'Jacques le Fataliste'. I imagine you would want to translate it into Dutch.

Grip, a position, a hold of the hands or hand on a golf club, a tennis racket, a handle. It can also be translated as ‘poignée’ in French.

Yeah no I know separately they mean something but like the combination of squire and grip doesn't mean anything afaik even in English. He stays in place, there are no sprites of him walking.

I wonder if I should make him disappear after that dialogue after leaving the tile. As if he actually went away.

I'd say grip is his name. He is a squire called Grip. That would make the most sense to me, otherwise it's just nonsense.

Yes, we can use Grip l'Écuyer/Grip the Squire; it makes sense in French as well.

willow2 don't worry about translating them, Threepwang and Ulyssom have been helping me a lot with translating this project. Also your translation for the token "RemasteredModeQuestion" might be a bit long. There's not a lot of space on the screen :P thanks for wanting to help though.
